The product
A basic chemical that almost every factory needs
Caustic soda is a strong alkali that dissolves easily in water. It cleans, it strips, it corrects pH, and it reacts with fats and oils. That is why you will find it in a dyeing house, a soap plant, a paper mill and an effluent treatment plant — often on the same day.
AGC Vinythai makes it at Map Ta Phut in Rayong, Thailand, using membrane cell electrolysis. This is the cleanest of the commercial processes: it keeps salt and iron content very low. In practice that means fewer shade problems in your fabric, less scaling in your lines, and a product you can use in food-contact cleaning.
Dunhill Corporation Ltd handles everything on this side — booking the indent with the mill, issuing the Proforma Invoice, working with your bank on the LC or UPAS LC, clearing at Chattogram, and delivering to your gate.

Mercerising, scouring, dyeing
Low iron content keeps shades clean and avoids the spotting that cheaper origins can cause on light colours.
Saponification
For laundry bar, toilet soap and liquid cleaners. Consistent purity means a consistent batch every time.
Pulping, de-inking, bleaching
Used through the pulping line and in recovery. Bulk liquid grades suit larger mills.
pH correction
Boiler feed water, ETP neutralisation and drinking water plants. The 32% liquid is the usual pick here.
CIP and equipment cleaning
Kosher, Halal and HACCP certificates are available on request for food-related use.
Aluminium, pharma, leather
Also used in metal cleaning and as a raw material across general chemical manufacturing.

Thailand to Chattogram is a short sea leg compared with far-origin cargo. Shorter transit means less working capital sitting on the water and a faster answer when you need top-up stock.

We know the floor, not just the file

Packing & storage
How it arrives, and how to keep it
Standard packing is 25 kg laminated PP bags with an inner PE liner. Jumbo bags of 500 kg and 1000 kg are available on request. A 20' container holds roughly 25 MT. Discharge is at Chattogram Port, and we can deliver ex-port or door-to-door anywhere in the country.
Storage. Caustic soda pulls moisture out of the air very fast. Keep bags in a dry covered godown, off the floor, away from acids and out of direct sunlight. Close any opened bag properly — a bag left open overnight will cake by morning.
Handling note
Caustic soda is corrosive to skin and eyes. Operators should always wear goggles, rubber gloves and full sleeves. When making a solution, add caustic to water — never water to caustic, as the heat generated can splash. Keep an eye wash point near the mixing area.

Common questions
Answers before you ask
Which grade should I use for my textile mill?
Most mills in Bangladesh run flakes at 98% min. or micropearls at 99% min. Micropearls dissolve faster and create much less dust, which matters if your operators are opening bags all shift. Tell us your process and we will suggest the right one.
What is the minimum order quantity?
One 20' container, about 25 MT. For regular buyers we can set up a monthly supply plan so you are not re-negotiating every shipment.
Do you support UPAS LC?
Yes. We handle UPAS LC regularly and can give your bank the exact wording and terms required, which avoids discrepancy charges later.
How long does delivery take?
Normally three to five weeks from LC confirmation. The two variables are vessel schedule and stock position at the mill, and we will tell you both before you commit.
Can I get a sample before ordering?
Yes. We can arrange a sample along with the COA and SDS so your lab can run its own check first.
Is the price fixed for the whole year?
No. Caustic soda is priced against the international chlor-alkali market and moves month to month. We quote firm for a stated validity period, and we will tell you honestly when we think it is a good month to book.
